Yearly trip to Catalina Island 2017

At the end of July I traveled to beautiful Catalina Island, here in So Cal with three great friends and artist, Terry d Chacon, Joan Coffee and Nita Harper.  It is always a fun and rewarding trip to paint out of the heat of the Inland Empire this time of the year.   We have been taking this trip for over 10+ years and it never gets boring.   Here is a recap of five days in Avalon plein air painting and enjoying good friendships.

The first stop is always Descanso Beach, after arriving in Avalon.

This is our little golf cart that comes with the condo we rent.  Freedom to drive about town and paint wherever we choose.  Above is Joan and Nita with the cart, my pastel easyl is in front .

Alley in Avalon.  This was a different but fun morning painting in town.

The bell tower.

There was a special Chihuly exhibition here in the museum, was a fabulous show.

This piece was so beautiful at night, here we are the 4 amigas!!

Getting up early every morning to paint the sunrise.  Nita and i on the back of the cart.

Until next time my friends.
