The final event for the WAOWing the Golden State events, was a day of plein air painting at La Jolla Beach, CA. The day was a overcast day, but nevertheless nice, and we could still see some distance, but there was no direct sun, which was good for not getting sunburned. There were about six artists who went to paint the beautiful vistas of La Jolla. A great way to end a wonderful weekend of celebrating art and meeting new artists friends.

WAOWing the Golden State - Opening reception weekend.

On Saturday Morning, we had a one hour quick draw, it was quite a challenge to complete a painting in one hour, but I tried to keep it simple, thus I choose this cactus that was in the light and it seemed as all of the spines were shinning. this painting is also available for sale at the museum. In the afternoon, I also painted on the grounds of the museum, for the viewing public. Then to make things more fun, on Sunday a number of us went over to La Jolla and painted in the cove. The day was overcast, but very beautiful, and a nice change from the hot day of the quick draw and demo the day before. It has been a great weekend, meeting great artists, and enjoying all of the beautiful artwork.

Come Join Me... June 4th or 5th, 2010

Come join me for the opening of the Women Artists of the West 40th annual Juried show. See above for more information, and do notice that I will be demonstrating on the grounds on Sat. the 5th after a quick draw, which I also plan to participate in. This is at the Wieghorst Museum in El Cajon, CA June 4th and 5th, 2010. The show will exhibit paintings from about 200 WAOW artists from all over the country. Also on that weekend, El Cajon is hosting their Western Days events, which is on the same street as the museum, so apart from the great art show, there will be allot of other events to see. Hope to see some of you there.
