Point Lobos and Garripata State Park

Another beautiful day in paradise, and I am loving painting here. Today I went to Point Lobos and hiked into the Cedar Grove, to paint. I attempted to paint from the inside of the grove looking out. Something I have attempted in the past. I must say I think it came out better this time than two years ago when I was here. Notice how the painting seems to blend into the real background. I had not noticed this when I was taking the photo.
After a short lunch break in Whalers Cove, Lilli and I drove to Garripata State Park, about 3 more miles down the road on 101. This is a place where the cliffs along the shore become bright orange and red with the ground color that hang onto the tops of the cliffs. Well, the orange ice plant is just starting to show their color, so are not totally in full boom. It was nevertheless beautiful, as the whole landscape in this area is just magnificent. I stood on a point looking over to the opposite cliffs that had some of the ice plant that was starting to blossom. I am just loving this, the weather continues to be fabulous!!! Tomorrow? We'll see, I think more dunes are in order, but who knows.. Until tomorrow..
