Day 4 found us painting along a dirt road in Taos, actually a side road on the way to day One location. There were rocks and a view of the gorge in the distance, however I looked the other direction towards the field looking at a farm in the distance. What really atracted me, was the wild grasses in the field along with some wild flowers. The clouds soon became more of a focus than the field, and of course that was fine also. The next small painting with an adobe on the hillside was done in about 5 minutes while I was waiting for my friend to come by to pick me up for lunch. During lunch the sky again opened up and rained during our critique session, so we stuck close to the hotel, and painted the clouds. I painted two small 8x10 studies of the clouds, the rain shortly started in earnest, and I had to stop. Four paintings were completed this day, so that was good.
