It is so hard to believe that I have not posted anything since October 2008, but yes, that is the case. Time flies by when you are having fun, some times when you are not! Well, the Holidays are over, and I had nice times with family and friends, but it is time to face the new year, and to get busy with the pastels and or paints. I did however have a chance to get out and paint a few scenes. In November, I had a nice morning with PAAR (Plein Air Artists of Riverside) painting in an area of San Bernardino County, called Mormon Rocks. These are very interesting rock formations in the Cajon Pass area. I did two paintings that morning, but I like this little one the best, a small 6x6 painting of a close up of one of the rock formations. I was interested in the light highlighting the shape of the rock.
PAAR Painting day at Two Trees 1-10-09
Last week our Plein Air group (PAAR) went to paint at one of our Artists home and studio, Elin Pendleton, at the Two Tree's area of Riverside, near UCR. I painted this little painting of a cactus catching the light next to a large rock formation, and next to that, were beautiful fall colors both still on the trees and on the ground. I call this one, Fall at Two Trees, Thanks Elin for a great day!
