Summer and Fall Events and Exhibitions

It has been a very long time since I posted anything.  I do not know what my excuse has been, other than the fact that I have traveled allot over the summer and prior to that suffered the loss of my dear mother in April.  So, I will try and summarize a few of the highlights, and post a few of the paintings I have done over the last 6 months.

June, fund me once again in New Mexico.  First, I attended the International Association of Pastel Painters convention in Old Town, Albuquerque.  Such a fun and invigorating event to see pastel painters from all over the world, and to meet so many artists with the same passion for this medium.  What a great time.  Following that I headed for Santa Fe, where I participated in a week long "Paint Santa Fe" Plein Air competition. Here are a few of the paintings from that event.

In the early part of August, I went once again to Catalina Island, for four fun filled days of painting with good friends and artists, Terry d Chacon, Nita Harper, Joan Coffey and Sandy Charlebois.  As a result of many years of us traveling to this island each summer, there is currently an exhibit of the paintings from over the last 8 years in Banning, CA.  The exhibit is; "Capturing Catalina in Plein Air" and is the the Banning Art Gallery, at 42 west Ramsey, in Banning, CA.  The paintings will be up until Oct. 2013.  So here are a few of my paintings from this last trip to the beautiful Catalina Island.
