Painting the Grand Canyon, once again

Painting along the rim, with Terry d Chacon and Nita Harper.

"Grand Canyon Morning" 8x10 plein air pastel.
" River vista afternoon" 11x14 Plein air pastel.
"The two watchmen" 9x12 plein air pastel.
"Studio vista" 6x12 plein air pastel.
On Monday the 28th I got up very very early in the morning, (4 am) and started headed to the Grand Canyon with two of my artists friends, Terry d. Chacon and Nita Harper for a wonderful painting adventure . We arrived around noon, and since we could not check in to our hotel, we left our luggage at the hotel, and headed out to paint. This was my second time I had painted at the canyon, and I was excited about the prospect to pain the beauty of this most beautiful of our National Parks. The next day we also painted both morning and afternoon, with perfect weather. The last day or our three day adventure was cold and windy, but we managed to paint two paintings before we left for home. Such a beautiful place to paint, and wonderful artist friends to share the experience with.

Wow!! I always wanted to paint at the Grand Canyon but the majesty of the place intimidates me! LOL You've captured that expanse wonderfully. I'm so impressed by these paintings.
