LomaLinda Cultral Arts Association Demo

Yesterday I had the honor of conducting a pastel painting demonstration at the Loma Linda Cultral Arts Association. I decided to demonstrate starting a pastel with a watercolor underpainting. This is the watercolor underpainting, and the other two photos show the pastel application and the final process. It was a very fun demonstration, and I am glad it did turn out, as I do not us this method often in my approch to painting. The subject was a painting I had done a few weeks, ago near my friend Terry's house in Redlands. I did like the wildflower feild and this approch worked well for this subject, and I think the wildflowers come out good.

Today I drove up to Pacific Grove, CA for a week of painting this beautiful area. I am hoping to find wildflowers on the dunes, my favorite subject to paint. If I am not to tired, I will try to post a painting or two during the week.
