Eucalyptus morning shadows

A great day painting with Michael Obermeyer, who hosted a one day workshop in Riverside on Victoria Avenue, with the Plein Air Artists of Riverside. It was a beautiful day, and the shadows were beautiful on these giant Eucalyptus trees.

Southwestern vista

This painting was done in my studio this week, as going out to paint has not been possible. I have always wanted to paint clouds, so I choose to try that at this time. I used a reference photo I had from one of our trips to Colorado and New Mexico. This is a 14x18 pastel on wallis paper. Enjoy

Loma Linda Fine Arts Association

On Sunday April 5th, I had the honor to demonstrate at the Loma Linda Fine Arts Association. This is the painting I did, it is an 11x14 painting on Pastelbord.

Whitewater Preserve

It was so much fun to paint at the Whitewater Preserve near Palm Springs. This was made available through the Plain Air Artists of Riverside who are having a show at the preserve at this time. Whitewater Preserve,is located at, 9160 Whitewater Canyon Road, Whitewater, CA 92282, phone # (760) 325-7222.
The exhibit will be available for viewing through April 30th, 2009. An opening reception for the artists was on Saturday April 4,2008,at the Whitewater Lodge.

Whitewater Preserve is 2,851 acres surrounded by the Bureau of Land Management San Gorgonio Wilderness and is part of the Conservancy’s 33,000-acre Sand to Snow Preserve System.

This is a beautiful place to paint, hike, picnic or camp. The show is beautiful and shows a variety of interpretations of this beautiful preserve.
