Flabob Airport and Evergreen Cemetery

On Friday Feb. 27th we painted at Flabob airport, a small local airport with a great little eatery. I had never painted airplanes, and that day, was a foggy ever changing light type of day, so I did experience some frustration, but enjoyed the experience. This old blue plane is one of a kind French racing plane. The last day of the paint out was at Evergreen Historic Cemetery, with views of mt Rubidoux and of course the Cemetery. I choose to focus in on three lovely palm trees and a few of the headstones.

In addition to the daily paint out locations, there was a Quick Draw on Sat. Feb. 28th, when we painted the Riverside Art Museum building which is celebrating it's 60th Anniversary. I will post the quick draw painting and the painting I put in the Exhibition at another date, as they are on display, and I did not have a chance to photograph these paintings.

Victoria Ave. and Taco Station

On day two we painted on Historic Victoria Avenue, then on Wednesday we painted the very interesting Taco Station which is a converted old service station with Route 66 memorabilia.

Plein Air Artists of Riverside 4th Annual Paint Out 2-21 to 3-1-09

For nine days I painted throughout various areas in Riverside with my painting group PAAR, which was their 4th Annual Pain Out. Most of the areas were all very different and historic locations, so was fun to look forward to the next days painting. We had a variety of weather, from cloudy to sunny and warm. The paint out culminated in a Exhibition at Riverside Art museum, in the Bobby Powell Gallery. For more information on the Exhibit visit the RAM website www.riversideartmuseum.org

The first painting is of, Mi Tortilla which was one of our Paint Out sponserors and painting locations, such a colorful building to paint.

The next painting is of the Spaghetti Factory, which is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary. Both of these locations were on day three.
