The shadows on the side of this building at the Asistencia in Redlands, grabbed the interest of a number of us painters, with Plein Air Artists of Riverside, on the morning of 2/13/08. I attempted to capture a side view of the bell tower through the trees, and of course those shadows on the white adobe. This is an 11x14 Plein Air Pastel.

A fun day of painting at the home and Studios of Elin Pendleton. I was there with the Plein Air Artists of Riverside. A fun day was had by all, the light was so beautiful in the evening when all changed to a golden amber glow. This is an 11x14 Plein Air Pastel, Available for Sale.

This was one of my paintings I completed during the Plein Air Artists of Riverside, Third Annual Plein air Paint Out week. This was completed on January 14th, during extremely high winds. The wind was so strong, I had to hang onto my painting board, so that it would not fly off my easel. The view was so great, I "hung in" there, and this is the result. This painting can be seen at the Riverside Art Museum until March 28, 2008.

I painted this little painting (5x7) two weeks ago when we had such beautiful weather here in Southern California. The snow covered mountains and the cloud formations were irresistable. This little painting will be submitted to the "Mini Show" at the Redlands Art Association show. Who knows if it will make the cut with the juror.

Madeline, my 2 year old Labradoodle, I did this little painting to experiment with painting something small, and of course, I needed a painting of my favorite studio companion.

Plein Air Pastels

Here I am, doing what I love, painting in "Plein air". There is nothing better, than enjoying the great out of doors, and saving the moment on your canvas.
